Hello Kitty has been round for 34 years now. Kitty was first a popular TV cartoon. The character, though thought of as Japanese, was actually created in London by the Sanrio Company of Japan. Hello Kitty
began to manufacture more products in 1995 as the popularity with the cartoon increased. They created a company base in France for the teenage female selling notebooks, pens, figurines, back packs, purses, and other fashion accessories. Now the sunglasses are the most popular item they have going for them. The sunglasses line is all female and contains about 26 new items for 2008.
The most interesting style is HKS16. It has the silver log of the Kitty face with strass. The side pieces are thin metal in a pink colour curving at the ears for maximum comfort. The lens is the most interesting part. That's right we wrote lens, not lenses. It is one solid lens. The lens is kind of an hour glass shape. You have a large oval that slims down at the nose to go to the mirroring oval on the other side. The nose has nose pieces that help the bridge of the sunglasses sit up on your nose rather than touching it.
HKS24 is a sunglass prescription pair. You can take out the normal UV protection lenses if need be. These frames are plastic, with a rather thick rim and side pieces. This particular style is black with orange stripes. Even the bridge is plastic so you can't adjust the nose pieces.
HKS31 is similar to the first style that we mentioned. The difference is the Hello Kitty is not on the sides and the side pieces are black and purple.
All of the sunglasses in the Hello Kitty line will be between 50 and 200 pounds. Most of the sunglass pairs hover right at 80 pounds. They are not the most affordable, but certainly of good quality, comfortable, and less expensive than other top brands.
