John Richmond

English born John Richmond is an up and coming fashion designer, having designed several ranges of menswear, womenswear, bags, shoes, accessories and eyewear. He was born in Manchester, and later relocated

to London, where in 1982, he graduated from Kingston University. Straight after finishing his studies, John Richmond set to work in creating a collection of clothing under his own name. Currently, he has two lines of clothing: ?John Richmond?, being the prominent range, and ?RICHMOND?, which is a spin off from his first line of clothing, which contains a denim range within it. 
John Richmond gets much of his inspiration for his designs from the culture of the streets of Britain, as well as British youth culture. His designs celebrate the unpredictability, as well as the creativity and energy of this culture. A large influence of music movements, as well as a certain amount of ?street chic? can be found in John Richmond's designs. Because of his close interactions with the music industry, John Richmond has been responsible for the wardrobes of several major stars and artists, including the likes of Mick Jagger, Madonna and Annie Lennox.  
The ranges that John Richmond offers are forever expanding and developing. He currently has lines of beachwear, underwear, a junior line, footwear and eyewear, and there have been discussions of a John Richmond label fragrance to be launched in the near future. There are also plans to expand the amount of Richmond label stores that are opened across the country ? by 2011, the project foresees that there should be one hundred stores open and trading business. 
John Richmond's range of sunglasses does not differ from the rest of his designs in that they reflect the passion and creativity of the youth culture. The sunglasses designs are diverse and very fashionable, with new designs being developed frequently as the latest trends and fashions change.
