Persol Sunglasses

Persol was first launched in 1917 in Turin. Guiseppe Ratti was a photographer at the time who owned a small company called Opticians. At the store he worked on creating sunglasses for pilots and sports

drivers. In the 1920?s he created the famous yellow brown lenses that are now a staple on his sunglasses. The lenses are made with a neutral crystal from the purest silica. They block the sun completely from the eyes. Persol has been a hit with the movie scene as well. Persol creates a unisex and female line. This year they have about 83 new items for the collection that will appeal to everyone.

First on the list is the 2737SPolarized. This particular pair has the yellow lenses in a square shape. The frame is high quality plastic and black. From the lenses the side pieces are thick just before the ears where they thin down to the curve around the ear. The nose pieces are not adjustable and the hinges are silver to offer a bit more to the style. They can be used for prescription lenses and are unisex. They tend to sell for a little under 100 pounds.

2759SPolarized is similar to the style above. The major difference is the lenses. The lenses are a wider square to cover the upper face and protect the eyes a little better. They are also considered a female style. They have anti glare lenses and sell for around 100 pounds.

The Photochromatic are an exceptional style for the right person. They are juxtaposition in colouring. The lenses are rather oval- square with soft pink to a darker pink at the top. The frames are thin titanium with adjustable nose pieces. From the side of the lenses is the metal that moves into a complete bright yellow side piece. The side piece is thin and curves around the ear for maximum comfort. This pair sells for 100 pounds.
